Y3

Mrs Granton teaches Year 3 alongside Mrs Evans, Mrs Bogul, Mrs Sollitt and Mrs Anderson.

This term we are learning about Ancient Egypt and making lots of fun artefacts..

We made some pyramids.

and we made some Egyptian jewellery and some death masks.

We also learnt about the process of mummification and why people were mummified.

In Science we have been learning about plants: how they grow, what they need to live and what affects them being healthy. The children have all started to grow a broad bean and some have started to germinate ready to be taken home and planted. We are excited to see if they grow really big once they are potted.

In Literacy we wrote a letter to Mr Willy Wonka and he sent each one of us a small wonka bar, after we had found the golden ticket in one of his chocolate bars.

This was our very first day in Year 3. We are working really hard and making lots of lovely things.

We have enjoyed working with Dawn and Lee learning about the book 'When Charlie McButton lost power' by Suzanne Collins. We have been learning to stay safe on-line and not spend too much time on computers and games consoles. We acted out parts of the book and it was great fun.

In P4C we learnt about the power of the words we speak over each other. We took turns saying positive words over Lucinda Apple and then we all spoke negative words over her sister Lara Apple. When we opened them up we found that good kind words promote health, but the unkind negative words caused Lara Apple to be all bruised and brown inside.
